Belltown Research
Originally settled by William Nathaniel Bell, whose family members many of the streets in the area are named after.
Turned into Seattle’s ”Film Row” in the 1920s, when the increased amount of movie theaters caused concern over the flammability of the film strips.
Many buildings in the area are original from the 1920s film house era.
Most walkable neighborhood in Seattle, as well as the most populated.
Now known for its bars and restaurants, and its numerous venues that house live music venues – most notably The Crocodile (and its associated clubs, Madame Lou’s and Here-After).
