Assignment:
Create a detailed illustrated and lettered map of a medium sized city of your choosing that you have not been to. Illustrated maps combine many core illustration skills: distillation and presentation of information, visual hierarchy, cultural reference, architectural reference, figurative reference, botanical reference, transportation reference, lettering, combined to create a system of visual hierarchy. Conduct research online on your city and include points of importance and interest on the map, including labels, where important.

Historically a Gold Rush city, then after the Gold Rush it became a destination for healing and rejuvenation because of the mineral springs.
Hosts the Emma Crawford Coffin Race each October - commemorates when Emma Crawford’s coffin was unearthed by flooding on Red Mountain and came racing down the mountain and into town.
Numerous historical buildings in town.
Known for outdoor recreational areas nearby and the mineral springs throughout town.
