The Devil’s Due

Back to my roots: Designing for a Stage Production in New York City

The Devil’s Due was a production staged off-off-Broadway in New York City. It was written by Meron Langsner and directed by Lynnette Barkley.

I was brought in as the designer for the program the week before the production opened when the venue informed Langsner and Barkley that they were responsible for the program, contrary to normal conventions. Although a poster had been previously created by another designer, J. Churchill Morris, he was now busy with other work, including other aspects of this production, and could not complete the program on such a short turnaround.

Credit for the cover concept of the program is owed to J. Churchill Morris for his poster design, which was modified only slightly for use as the cover of the program to maintain consistency. It is displayed here only for purposes of displaying the complete program.
